Asian Film Awards Academy

Asian Film Awards Academy (AFA Academy) actively supports the development of regional film markets in Asia and promotes Asian cinema through international screenings of titles nominated and awarded at Asian Film Awards.

The strategic program of AFA Academy are the Asian Cinerama screenings, which for the firs time will be a part of Five Flavours' program. The section includes six important titles – this year's AFA winners and nominees.

GUESTS

The screenings are accompanied by Q&A sessions with festival guests – Heiward Mak, the producer of "Mad World," Lam Wing-sum – co-scriptwriter of "Soul Mate" and Yang Chao and Yang Jing – director and producer of "Crosscurent."

During the festival, we will also hold a special debate devoted to the condition of Hong Kong cinema and its future with the participation of festival guests and film critics from Poland and Hong Kong.

AWARD FOR ANN HUI

Every year, AFA Academy honors an outstanding member of the Asian film community. Ann Hui, whose films are presented at the 11th Five Flavours in a special Portrait section, received an honorary AFA award in 2012. In 2015, she also received the AFA Best Director award for "The Golden Age" (the closing film of the 9th Five Flavours).
