Film description
A documentary made on the Thai-Burmese border. MuLa, a woman from a Kajan tribe, emigrates to Thailand with her husband and son, searching a better life. But her only daughter remained on the other side of the border.
MuLa makes money selling souvenirs to tourists, but the financial situation of the family is very difficult. The author portrays the every-day life of the mother, in which even the tiniest detail seems to be important, and each moment is filled with the tension of waiting for her little girl.
The film will be introduced by its author, Monika Pawluczuk.
Monika Pawluczuk
Radio and television journalist, author of documentaries: "When I Am A Bird", "Models", "So You Should Change", now she is in the course of filming her next documentary film with the working title "Radio Łódź 99, 2 MHz". She is the co-author (with Katarzyna Miller) of a book, translated into several languages, titled "Being A Woman and Not Going Crazy". She is a cultural studies graduate at the American Studies Center at Warsaw University, a journalism department graduate at the Journalism Centre in Warsaw, and a DOC PRO Documentary Programme graduate at the Wajda School.
