Film description

School buddies Bobby and Akkun decide to visit their friend from a nearby town. They take a convenient shortcut through the mountains. On their way, the boys find an abandoned amusement park. Clearly they have not seen enough horror movies to know better than to explore it...

Ujicha uses a unique animation technique. Handpainted figures cut out of paper move in front of the camera as if in a shadow theater. The seemingly innocent images, which look like illustrations for children's books, slowly draw the viewers into their disquieting, terrifying reality. The director was inspired by the aesthetics of B-class comic books of the 80s, classic horrors from the Shochiku studio, and the cult works of the Japanese cyberpunk. The influences come from the body grotesque of "Tetsuo: The Iron Man," and the classic Lovecraftian horror. Menacing technologies, mad scientists, and children trapped in mysterious labyrinths – it is a sure recipe for a thrilling, visually hypnotic nightmare.
