Film description
Three intertwining stories with a transgender background. A beautiful woman travels through the Thai province searching for the traces of her past in a small town. A teenage boy whose father caught him trying on a dress is sent to a convent. A young man comes back from America to shut down a variety show night club which belonged to a father he never met. A road movie is combined with a tragicomedy – the beautifully composed shots show episodes from the characters' lives in a warm, but slightly ironic light. Sukkhapisit portrays different varieties of gender identity, but the main theme of the film is the universal longing for intimacy and acceptance.

Tanwarin Sukkhapisit
Director, actress, producer, head of Thai Film Director Association in 2012. Awarded for her short features, often inspired by autobiographical experiences related to sex change. Her full-length debut "Insects in the Backyard" about teenagers raised by a transsexual parent was not distributed domestically due to the censorship issues, but it was shown at over 30 international festivals.
