Film description
A continuation of the hit music film "The Way We Dance," which introduced the world to the Hong Kong hip hop and street dance scenes. In part one, the energetic group of young, talented protagonists was fighting for their dreams and was looking for a way to express their identities through dance. Today, their creative passion is counted in dollars, and hip-hop is present not only on the streets and campuses, but also in big recording studios and the commercials and projects of developers, for whom the presence of young artists is a way to attract young investors.
Wong's bitter-sweet story is a unique insight into the world of music underground and a touching portrait of a young generation faced with the hard reality of contemporary economy, forced to confront their ideals with the pragmatic demands of everyday life. The director did not want to rely on the success of part one, this is why we are not just watching the subsequent events in the lives of the protagonists. The actors are playing fictional versions of themselves, facing difficult life choices a few years after the success of the film. It is an intriguing insight into the inner workings of the creative industry – young artists from all across the globe will surely recognize many familiar situations – but also a broad portrait of the modern Hong Kong, which is constantly changing, facing the incoming generations with completely new challenges.

Adam Wong
Director and lecturer, graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. For "The Way We Dance" (2013) he received a Hong Kong Film Award and a Hong Kong Film Directors Award for young directors. He did not want to make a sequel of the film right after its success, jokingly saying that instead of making "The Way We Dance 2," he'll go straight to part three, with all his protagonists already grown up. He decided not to make high-budget films, instead focusing on smaller productions.
