About the event
Tokyo is home to countless stories and a vast space filled with hidden restaurants, izakaya bars, and long-standing eateries in the suburban shitamachi districts. It is also Japan’s culinary capital, where new trends and styles emerge before spreading across the globe. We invite you to a discussion about Tokyo’s culinary map, inspired by the film “Adrift in Tokyo”- an autumn road movie that takes viewers through charming spots in the metropolis, far from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
Our guest for the discussion will be Marcin Wojtasik, an anthropologist and sociologist specializing in Asian cuisines, co-founder of the Yatta Ramen restaurant, and co-author of the book “Podróż przez krainę ramen”, which introduces readers to the fascinating world of ramen and Japanese cuisine in a broader social and cultural context.
After the screening and discussion, we invite you to enjoy a tasting inspired by the film, prepared by Marcin Wojtasik and Yatta Ramen.
