Red Carpet: Ankur Tewari and the music for "Gully Boy"
During the 7 p.m. evening meeting, we will be joined by Ankur Tewari, music supervisor for "Gully Boy."
The meeting is a chance to talk about the Indian indie music scene and the particularities of the local hip hop, about the intercultural sound flow and the music evolution of modern Bollywood cinema.
Ankur Tewari
He studied hospitality, but instead of being a tourist manager, he decided to follow his music passion. Since 1998, he has been working in various musical fields, including as a singer and songwriter in the band Ankur & The Ghalat Family, and as a composer. He wrote film scripts – including „Gattu” (2011), presented at Berlinale, and directed TV series. He was a music producer, film songs lyricist, he also appeared before the camera as an actor a couple of times. As the music supervisor for „Gully Boy,” he was responsible not only for the choice of the songs and their production, but also for connecting them with the script, which they gave a rhythm to.
