Morning live meetings: Film journeys and ecological cinema
In the daily live meetings, the Festival organizers offer interesting tropes that can guide you through this year’s Five Flavours program.
We invite you to ask questions and share your thoughts on the films you have seen! We meet every day at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Morning coffee and films
During the morning meeting on Thursday we will have a closer look at the Journey to Asia section, which includes films about various kinds of expeditions – traveling for work, tourist trips, and spiritual journeys. Another thing that connects them is the element of water, the life-giver of hundreds of communities big and small, the economic center of life, a communication route, and a symbol filled with cultural significance.
The plots of many films of the series include an element of ecological consciousness – we see the results of man-made modifications of the environment, the real effects of the slow but irrevocable climate change, and the dilemmas of people whose surroundings are suffering from the modern world’s interference.
Red Carpet
In the evening, at 7 p.m., the Festival Red Carpet will host Thang Long Do who played the leading role in Mariko Bobrik's "The Taste of Pho." The 14th edition of Five Flavours marks the online premiere of the film!
