Film description

A public place sees a shocking outburst of violence – a masked young man brutally attacks someone with a sword. What caused this act of aggression? Who is the perpetrator and who did he choose as his victim? In his achronological, multi-layered story, Ho Wi Ding slowly reveals to the audiences the stories of five people in their 20s connected with the incident, and the relationships between them. We learn about their initially unclear past, their troubles and motivations.

Terrorizers are a visually stunning, masterfully composed, nihilistic portrait of loneliness in modern Taipei filled with new technologies. How is real life affected by the digital reality people sink into ever more often and ever much deeper? Is it possible to truly erase your past in a world where everything is being recorded? Terrorizers are in no way connected to Edward Yang’s 1986 movie of the same title. It is a modern reflection on the condition of the inhabitants of Taiwan’s capital. How much has the city changed over the nearly four decades?
