About the event

Every year, the Five Flavours presents the cinema of the masters and films that become hotspots of broad public discussion in their respective countries. We point out which films from this year's programme put their protagonists in extreme situations and show moments that in various ways changed the history of the countries in which they were set.

The studio's guest is Kiyoshi Kurosawa, a legendary auteur of Japanese cinema, one of the authors behind the worldwide wave of popularity of J-horror, who in recent years has more readily turned to melodramatic genres and looked at stories of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary situations. His “Wife of a Spy”, set in the 1940s, is a look at a very sensitive period in Japanese history and at the same time a moving portrait of a woman facing crucial life choices.
