Sukiyaki Western Django
It's hard to list all the films inspired by Kurosawa's "Yojimbo;" the most important ones are the Spaghetti Westerns – Leone's "For a Fistful of Dollars" and Corbucci's "Django." They are the model for Miike, the greatest rascal of Japanese cinema, who brings the story of a nameless gunman arriving in a town torn by two fighting clans – the white Genjis and the red Heikes, back to his homeland. The director makes the bloody resolution beautiful and brutal, with references to classic cinema and an automatic wink to the audience.
An additional attraction is Tarantino, clearly enjoying playing his episodic part; a couple of years later he himself will face the Western genre.
Born in 1960, cult Japanese director known for the extreme content and cinematic forms. He received numerous festival awards for "Audition," "Ichi The Killer," and "13 Assassins," among others. So far, he directed over 90 films.
