Submission deadline for 2026: mid-August

We are particularly interested in recent works for our two main competition sections:

• New Asian Cinema – showcasing outstanding debut and early-career filmmakers, highlighting bold new voices and emerging talent from across Asia.

• Asian Cinerama – presenting accomplished contemporary Asian cinema, including acclaimed festival titles, audience favourites, genre cinema, and works by established directors.

We especially encourage filmmakers from Southeast and South Asia, as well as individuals coming from diasporic backgrounds.

Premiere Status

Films submitted to either section should be available for a Polish premiere at the time of the festival. Priority will be given to Polish premieres.

Online Availability

The Five Flavours Asian Film Festival is presented in a hybrid format, combining in-person screenings in Warsaw with a secure online edition available exclusively to audiences in Poland via geo-blocking.

While not mandatory, we strongly encourage rights holders to make their films available for the online programme during the festival dates. Online availability allows the film to reach a wider audience across Poland and is an important consideration during the programming process.

Final screening arrangements, including online availability, will be agreed individually with selected films and rights holders.

Submission Materials

Please submit:

• a shareable online screener link (Vimeo, Cinando, Festival Scope Pro, or similar platforms are preferred);

• basic production information and contact details;

• and send it to our email address: info@piecsmakow.pl.

If possible, we encourage rights holders to keep the screener available throughout the festival selection period.

Submission Deadline

The selection for each year’s programme is finalised around mid-August. Selected applicants will be contacted individually by the festival programming team.

People's Jury Grand Prix

In 2026, one film from the New Asian Cinema Competition will receive the People's Jury Grand Prix, funded by the Polish Film Institute. The award carries a cash prize of PLN 25,000 and is decided by an international jury of dedicated cinephiles from across Europe.
