Sunday at the festival will not leave you much time to catch your breath. Today we host one of the most exciting events of this year’s edition – a masterclass with a legend of Hong Kong cinema, Fruit Chan. In the evening, we cordially invite you to Bar Studio for Sunday in Five Flavours  | a cinematic cocktail party.

Five Flavours programme includes six films by Fruit Chan - from the legendary "Made in Hong Kong" (1997), which will be presented after 4K restoration, to the latest, highly provocative film "Three Husbands" (2018).

On Sunday Five Flavours begins already at 11 a.m. with three simultaneously held screenings. The spectators can choose between the Japanese “Mr Long”, “Fagara” from Hong Kong and unquestionably the hottest film of this year’s edition, “The Taste of Pho”.

At 2 p.m. we invite you to the screening of “Dumplings”, as a prelude to the first director’s masterclass in the history of Five Flavours. Its protagonist, Fruit Chan, will unveil some secrets of his cinematic work presenting selected chunks of his films.

At 9 p.m. we invite you to Sunday in Five Flavours, a cinematic cocktail party at Bar Studio.

Masterclass: Fruit Chan

Sunday, 17 November, 3.30 p.m. at Kino Muranów

The masterclass with Fruit Chan is a unique opportunity to meet one of the most expressive authors of the new Hong Kong cinema. The artist will share with the Polish audience his experiences from nearly three decades of working in the vibrant film industry in Hong Kong. How to make a film on a scrap of film tape? How to combine political and deeply personal themes? Where are the boundaries of film obscenity? The author, who rarely visits Europe, will answer these and many other questions.
