Morning Live Meeting: City Girls
Colorful neon lights, the streets that never sleep, shining skyscrapers with big corporate offices. Asian metropolises are the cities of the future – but what are the plans of the young women living in them?
In the Wednesday morning live we will talk about girls from big cities looking for their own path to independence, facing challenges unknown by their mother’s generations, and breaking away from conventions imposed on them by tradition and the world of media images. We will look at the story of Fong from "My Prince Edward," a subversive reinterpretation of a romantic comedy genre. Together with Ayano and Koharu from "Daughters" we will roam the colorful streets of Tokyo. We will also have a look at the prospects of the protagonists of "Mermaid Unlimited," "Microhabitat," and "Kim Ji-young, Born 1982."
Red Carpet
At 7 p.m., we are meeting with the makers of the Malay film "Geran," an homage to the traditional martial art silat, and an energetic, passionate cinematic tale of a prodigal son and his siblings fighting with a gang of mobsters to keep their ancestral land. The brother-sister team decimating the hoards of bandits is a spectacle not to be missed!
