Morning Live Meeting: A Piercing Look
On the seventh day of the Festival, we will talk about the cinema that ruthlessly unveils the ailments of the modern world and is not afraid to ask difficult questions.
The Festival program always includes films that provoke discussions and offer bitter social diagnoses. This year, many of them are a part of the "Parasites" section – especially the modest, but very moving "Dust and Ashes" deserves a special mention. "Verdict" from the Philippines, a story of a woman fighting against home abuse, is a must-see in the New Asian Cinema section. "Bloodless," presented in the Asian VR section, touches upon the dark, silent pages of Korean history, which have remained hidden for decades. A battle between an individual and the powerful political machines is also the subject of "Lost in the Fumes," the only documentary film in this year's program, devoted to the activists of today's Hong Kong. These are the films that raise our awareness, open our eyes, and are impossible to forget.

On Tuesday evening we invite you for a meeting with Prashant Pillai, the author of the hypnotic music for "Jallikattu" – a film which combines a unique sound and visual form with an ironic look at the world of Southern India. Pillai was the student of A.R. Rahman, he is a composer, teacher, and enthusiast of new technologies.
