Film description
Bhutan is a small country where everyone knows each other and nothing stays hidden for long. So when a spicy video begins to circulate online, featuring a woman resembling Nima, her teaching career collapses. Even her partner doubts her explanations. Stripped of dignity and privacy, Nima cannot accept such injustice. She leaves the capital and sets out for the lush countryside in search of Meto, the woman behind the scandal. But Meto has vanished, and locals believe that Nima is her spiritual reflection.
Inspired by true events, Dechen Roder’s mysterious and visually stunning film paints a portrait of everyday life in Bhutan, revealing how ancient traditions intertwine with contemporary reality. The film’s tension-filled atmosphere is beautifully complemented by the music of Tashi Dorji, one of the most distinctive musicians of Bhutanese origin.
