How to watch the films of the festival online?

How can I watch a film of the festival online?
To view a movie, access must be purchased. On sale there are:
- Pass for all the screenings (for yourself)
- Voucher for a pass to be activated later ( perfect as a gift for another person)
- Single access to a selected film for 22 zl - which has to be purchased on each title’s page.
Will the access pool for individual films be limited?
No, we do not have limits on the availability of films.
What platform is the festival on and when do I get access to the pass?
You can watch the films directly on the piecsmakow.pl website: login to your account, go to the page with the description of a given title and click "watch".
The pass will be active from Wednesday, November 15 to 10:00 am until Monday, December 3 at 11:59 pm.
Are the films available throughout the festival?
All the films are available throughout the festival, with the exceptions. Five films by King Hu - "Dragon Inn," "A Touch of Zen," "Raining in the Mountain", "Legend of the Mountain" and "The Wheel of Life" will be available on the following days:
November 17 to 19 (Friday-Sunday);
November 25 to 26 (Saturday-Sunday);
December 2 to 3 (Saturday-Sunday).
Are all the films of the festival available online?
No, 27 feature films in the programme are available online.
How many times can I watch a film?
If you are a pass holder - you can watch all the films when you want, as many times as you want.
In case of single accesses - after pressing "Watch" you have 48 hours to watch a film.
What if I start watching a film at the last minute, i.e. on the last day of the festival before midnight?
You always have 48h to watch a film, even if you start watching it at the last minute. Until Devember 3 23:59, you can buy access to a film and start watching it (by pressing the "Watch" button). You can finish the film in that 48h period, so even until December 5 23:59.
Can I watch a video on several devices at once?
No, you can only watch a video on one device at a time.
In what language are the films available?
All films are available in the original language version with Polish and English subtitles to choose from. You can select the appropriate language version in the “player”.
I have a problem playing a film. How can I get help?
If you experience problems loading the projections, please refresh the page, close inactive tabs or change your browser. It is also worth changing the automatic quality to 720p. Most of the films available on the Five Flavours platform have 5.1 sound. If you experience problems with the sound, we recommend that you configure your speakers and make sure that the surround sound function is turned off on your computer (generally, just right-click on the speaker in the bottom right-hand corner and turn this feature off).
We also recommend that you update your internet browser to the latest version.
If the problem persists, please check whether you have AdBlock enabled (if so, please disable it).

How can I watch the movies on my TV?
To watch movies on your TV, you can:
- use an HDMI cable to connect your computer or laptop,
- use a Chromecast attachment so you can run the projection from your Android smartphone,
- use an Apple TV adaptor with AirPlay 2 to project from an iPhone or iPad.
I live in Poland, but during the festival, I will be out of the country. Can I still buy a pass and watch the films?
The films are available in the territory of Poland. However, in accordance with European Parliament Regulation 2017/1128, users permanently residing in Poland and temporarily staying in the EEA can also watch the purchased content. Please email info@piecsmakow.pl after purchasing access. After verifying the conditions, we will unlock the access.
This is precisely stated in § 4, point 4 of the regulations
In addition, a User with a verified permanent residence in Poland may use the VOD Service during a temporary stay in other member states of the European Economic Area (EEA), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/1128 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the cross-border portability of online content services in the internal market (the Regulation). The EEA includes the countries of the European Union, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The verification of the User's permanent place of residence takes place at the request of the User-submitted to e-mail:info@piecsmakow.pl and on the terms set out in Article 5 of the Regulation. The User is entitled to withhold access to Digital Content while staying in another EEA Member State until the User's permanent place of residence in Poland is verified.
I have a computer with Linux. Can I watch films without any problems?
Yes. Just in case, please update your browser to the latest version.
What browser is needed in order to watch the videos?
The device must have the operating system installed:
- Microsoft Windows 10 or 11
- Mac OS 10.13 or later
- iOS 13 or later
- Android 8.0 or later
- Linux with the current Chrome browser
And a web browser installed:
- Firefox version 70 or later
- Chrome version 75 or later
- Microsoft Edge version 18 or later
- Opera Version 56 or later
- Safari version 13 or later
