Internship at Far East Film Festival in Udine

Would you like to get to know a big film festival from the backstage, work with Asian cinema enthusiasts and live in a beautiful town in northern Italy for two months?

A two-month internship at one of the largest Asian cinema festivals in Europe is a great opportunity to learn about the practical aspects of organizing cultural events and enter the world of Asian cinema.

As part of the project "Festival as a form of education" in the Erasmus Plus Programme, we offer an internship for one person - a volunteer, a member of the People's Jury or an associate of Five Flavours Film Festival. The internship will take place from 9 March to 7 May 2020.

Far East Film Festival is one of the biggest events dedicated to Asian popular cinema. Its program includes more than 80 film screenings, each for more than a thousand viewers, 100 thematic events and industry events. Every year the festival hosts over 200 filmmakers from Asia.  The FEFF has been held since 1999 and its 22nd edition will take place from 24 April to 2 May.

Responsibilities:
  • production tasks in cooperation with the organizers, coordination of the festival guests' stay,
  • production tasks for organising the Campus,
  • assistance in the implementation of sectoral projects,
  • assistance in the press office.

The tasks will primarily include office work: writing e-mails, preparing letters, updating databases and information on the website,and assisting in the daily management of the activities during the Festival. The above tasks will constitute the basic scope of responsibilities, which will be extended to include assistance in other aspects of festival organisation in order to gain as much experience as possible in the preparation of cultural events.

Requirements:
  • good communication skills,
  • fluency in English, knowledge of Italian would be an advantage,
  • teamwork skills,
  • interest in Asian cinema.

 The expected working time is about 8 hours a day.

The organizers assure:
  • per diems: €48 per day,
  • flight and accommodation,
  • travel and health insurance.

The results of the recruitment process will be announced on 7 February 2020 and candidates will be informed by e-mail. 

The internship will take place from 9 March to 7 May 2020.

The internship is a part of the Erasmus Plus project 'Festival as a form of education' carried out by Five Flavours in partnership with Udine Far East Film Festival, Helsinki Cine Aasia and Camera Japan.
