Volunteer opportunity at Camera Japan - Rotterdam and Amsterdam

CAMERA JAPAN is an annually held festival dedicated to Japanese culture with a focus on presenting a wide and diverse selection of Japanese film. The festival has been organised since 2006. The fourteenth edition of the CAMERA JAPAN Festival will take place from 26 until 29 September in Rotterdam and from 4 until 6 October in Amsterdam. The festival is run by a group of dedicated volunteers.

As part of a collaboration with Five Flavours Film Festival in Warsaw, Cine Aasia in Helsinki and Far East Film Festival in Udine within Erasmus + Project, we offer volunteers and co-workers of these festivals  the opportunity to help out for two months, starting from 10 August 2019.

Camera Japan is looking for someone who can help with the following:

  • assistance with publicity and promotion, strengthen and expand our network of English language outlets

  • assistance with social media during the festival

  • assistance with distribution of printed publicity materials

  • assistance with decoration and build-up

  • assisting with production before and during the festival

Camera Japan needs someone who is:

  • a good communicator

  • an excellent planner

  • fluent in English

  • a team player

  • flexible and stress resistant

  • creative or have a creative eye

Please note that the above will be your main tasks but you may be requested to assist in other aspects of the festival to enhance your experience of being part of a festival organisation.Expected workload is expected to be about 4 hours per day, but this will not be evenly spread out during the period.

Financial details:

  • you will receive a per diem of € 40 for the duration to cover your daily expenses

  • flight and accommodation will be arranged for you

  • travel and health insurance will be covered
