About Arteria:
Arteria Arts Foundation organises social and artistic projects since 2004. We are acknowledged not only for to the production of an outstanding theatrical plays but also thanks to our commitment in organising regular events, which develop a deep understanding of Asian culture and at the same time opens a cultural dialogue between Asian minorities and Poles.
This year, following the success of two previous Vietnam Film Festivals, we are going to organise yet another and even more diversified film festival. It will include films from other Southeast Asian countries (mainly Thailand).
Films
We will screen numerous fiction feature films, as well as documentaries from the countries of the Far East - most of which are Polish premiers. Each screening will be complimented either by a short film, or a selection of archive footage from WFDiF. There is also something for the young viewers: morning screenings of the animations. The special guest of this year’s festival - Pen-Ek Ratanaruang is frequently awarded, world-famous Thai director.
Special Events
Special Events running alongside the festival will broaden the promotional opportunities. For instance, this year we entered into partnership with ‘The Museum of Warsaw Uprising ‘44’ in order to exhibit 3D photographs from excursions to Asia in the 20s and 30s. This event will take place at the ‘Fotoplastikon’ gallery in Warsaw.
At the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw we will prepare a unique opportunity to see an exhibition, which will be imported from Vietnam especially for us - ‘In a City’ portrays daily life in Hanoi.
In cooperation with the Travel Festival “Vagabond’” we are preparing a series of presentations presenting astonishing expeditions to Asia through the eyes of Polish travellers. Those events are going to be accompanied by Travel Fairs, where travel agencies present their tour packages to Asia.
